Correct selection of die cutter and indentation line to avoid post-printing failure

1. Select the correct die cutter

Die cutting knife requires sharp, high hardness. The aluminum plating film on the surface of the gold (silver) cardboard and the rough particles of the matte ink increase the difficulty of the die cutting and speed up the wear of the die cutting tool. According to statistics, the knife plate printing resistance of non-gold (silver) cardstock frosted prints is 800,000 times, while the knife plate printing resistance of gold (silver) cardstock frosted prints is significantly reduced. Different die cutting tools should be selected for different thicknesses of paper.


2. Select the indentation wire and indentation steel wire correctly

The high-quality indentation steel wire should have moderate hardness, strong stability, smooth cutter head, symmetrical axis in the arc, small deviation in height and thickness, and complete specifications. The selection principle is: the thickness of the indentation steel wire is not less than the thickness of the paper, the height is equal to the height of the die cutting blade minus the thickness of the die cutting material, and then minus the correction value of 0.05 ~ 0.10mm, the selection principle of the indentation line is: the thickness of the indentation line is not less than the thickness of the paper, the width is equal to 1.5 times the thickness of the paper thickness plus the thickness of the indentation steel wire.

In addition, the die cutting plate under the backing paper is too thick, the die cutting pressure is too large, the indentation die is too thick, and the indentation die is narrow. Adjustments should also be made when die-cutting frosted prints. And in the process of die cutting in time to clean the indentation mold seam accumulation of paper powder. Sundries, etc.


3. Properly control the on-off points

The open connecting point is essentially a small opening of a certain width at the mouth of the die cutting blade, so that the cardboard box and the waste edge after the die cutting are not spread out, and it is easy to discharge waste. The connecting point is usually opened in a hidden place that is not easy to see after the product is formed, and the glue line should be avoided. If the connecting point can be seen after forming, the connecting point should be as small as possible, otherwise it is not easy to separate the connecting point during waste discharge, resulting in the paper tearing and the nearby ink layer bursting line. Connecting point width; Paper thickness +0.20mm.


4. Reasonable arrangement of die cutting time

The die cutting of frosted printed gold (silver) cardstock paper should be carried out as early as possible after printing to prevent the ink film from drying excessively to avoid the ink layer bursting line.
