How to make color management more effective with less effort?

Time:2023-06-06 Views:846
With the continuous expansion of printing technology in the label and packaging market, how to ensure that the brand owners of their packaging products require color consistency, has become a major challenge facing printing companies. With the shortening of turnaround time and the change of operation length, traditional printing technology can not meet all the needs.

No matter in traditional printing or digital printing, color management should rely on the reasonable coordination of professional hardware and software to achieve. At present, most of the hardware equipment uses the hand-held or scanning spectrophotometer equipment of Alli, while the software is in full bloom. At present, the mainstream packaging color management software such as GMG and CGS provide closed-loop correction optimization algorithm, which makes the printing color as close to uniform as possible with EPSON digital proof machine and special proofing paper. Although the software algorithms have become more advanced through continuous upgrades, the proofing paper is not printing paper, and the final effect is still limited to pre-press correction. The popularity of digital printing allows printing factories to use materials with the same quality as printing for proofing, which makes color management more accurate. At the same time, the cooperation between the color management software of major equipment manufacturers and their own equipment also better shows the accuracy of color.

However, there are still many companies in India that have introduced color management systems, but still complain that color is not accurate enough and that color management is just a paper project. In fact, the so-called color management is not a one-time work, it is a continuous and continuous calibration process, because both traditional equipment and digital equipment have a wear cycle, equipment can not always maintain the best state, so in the maintenance at the same time also need to adjust the color of each stage, through the correction compensation to trace the previous color. This requires manpower and time. It is usually recommended to do monthly, quarterly or annual color correction based on equipment maintenance adjustment. Another problem plaguing printing houses is color chasing, often with customers holding a product and a specific color code, hoping that the printing house can produce the same color. Usually, we need to find PANTONE chromatography for comparison. If the spot color of the product is manually matched, it will be slightly different from the color number and color of the PANTONE. In this case, the color ratio can only be predicted by experience, which is greatly influenced by human factors.
