Manual for key maintenance of printing press peripherals

1. Air pump
    At present, there are two kinds of air pumps used in offset printing press, one is dry pump; One is the oil pump.

(1) Dry pump is produced by rotating sliding graphite sheet to produce high pressure air supply to the printing press, its general maintenance items are as follows:

  • Clean the pump inlet filter every week, open the gland, and remove the filter element. Clean with high pressure air;
  • Clean the motor cooling fan and pressure regulating valve of the air pump every month;
  • Every 3 months, the bearing is oiled, and the designated brand of butter is added to the nozzle with the butter gun;
  • Every six months to check the wear of the graphite sheet, open the outer cover to take out the graphite sheet, measure its size with a vernier caliper, and clean the whole gas chamber;
  • A year (or work 2500 hours) for a large overhaul, the whole machine apart, clean, chec
(2)The oil pump is a pump that rotates and slides high pressure air flow through the stainless steel spring in the air chamber. Different from dry pump, the oil pump is cooled, filtered and lubricated by oil. Its maintenance items are as follows:
  • Check the oil level every week to see whether it needs to be filled (to turn off the power to observe after the oil reflux);
  • Clean the air inlet filter every week, open the cover plate, take out the filter element, and clean with high pressure air;
  • Clean the motor cooling fan every month;
  • Change the oil once every 3 months, completely pour out the oil in the oil chamber of the oil pump, clean the oil chamber, and then add new oil, which the new machine work for 2 weeks (or 100 hours) should be changed;
  • Carry out large-scale maintenance every 1 year (or 2500 hours) to check the wear of the main worn parts.




2. Air compressor

    In the offset press, the air pressure control action of ink road, clutch pressure, etc., is realized by the air compressor to supply high pressure gas. Its maintenance items are as follows:
Check the compressor oil level daily, not lower than the red line mark;
  • Daily discharge of condensed water in the gas storage tank;
  • Clean the inlet filter core weekly and blow with high pressure air;
  • Check the tightness of the drive belt every month. After pressing down the belt with your fingers, the elastic range should be 10 ~ 15mm;
  • Clean the motor and heat sink monthly;
  • Change the oil once every 3 months, and thoroughly clean the oil cavity; If it is a new machine, work 2 weeks or 100 hours need to change the oil;
  • Replace the air inlet filter core every year;
  • Every 1 year to check the pressure drop (leakage) situation, the specific method is to turn off all the air supply facilities, let the air compressor rotate enough gas, observe 30 minutes, if the pressure drop is more than 10%, it is necessary to check the compressor seals, and replace the damaged seals;
  • Overhaul once every 2 years, disassemble for comprehensive inspection and maintenance.



3. Dusting equipment
    Under the control of periodic paper collection by the paper receiving machine, the high-pressure air duster blows the powder in the duster to the top of the paper receiving machine and sprits to the surface of the printed matter through the duster hole. Its maintenance items are as follows:
  • Clean the air pump filter core weekly;
  • Clean the powder control CAM every week. On the paper receiving chain shaft, the induction CAM will lose its periodic accuracy control due to too much dust, so it should be cleaned regularly.
  • Clean motors and cooling fans monthly;
  • Dredge the duster tube every month. If necessary, remove it and rinse it with high-pressure air blowing or high-pressure water. Dredge the duster hole above the paper receiver with a needle;
  • Clean the duster container and agitator every month, pour out all the powder, press the "TEXT" key on the duster, the residue in the container will be blown out;
  • Check pump graphite sheet wear every 6 months;
  • Large maintenance of pressure air pump every 1 year.



4. Main electrical cabinet
    The high-pressure air duster, under the control of periodic paper collection by the paper receiving machine, blows the powder in the duster to the top of the paper receiving machine and sprits to the surface of the printed matter through the duster hole. Its maintenance items are as follows:
  • Clean the air pump filter core weekly;
  • Clean the powder control CAM every week. On the paper receiving chain shaft, the induction CAM will lose its periodic accuracy control due to too much dust, so it should be cleaned regularly.
  • Clean motors and cooling fans monthly;
  • Dredge the duster tube every month. If necessary, remove it and rinse it with high-pressure air blowing or high-pressure water. Dredge the duster hole above the paper receiver with a needle;

5. Main tank
    Now the offset press is using rain lubrication lubrication, the main tank has a pump to press the oil to each unit, and then the transmission gear lubrication.
  • Weekly check the oil level of the main tank, not lower than the red mark line; Because to let the pressure to each unit of the oil back to the tank, generally need to turn off the power 2 ~ 3 hours after observation;
  • Check the working condition of the oil pump every month, whether the filter net and oil filter core on the pump straw are aging;
  • Replace the filter core every half a year, the new machine work 300 hours or 1 month after the filter core should be replaced; Method: Turn off the main power supply, put a container below, unscrew the filter body, take out the filter element, put the new filter core in, fill with the same type of new oil, screw the filter body, turn on the power test machine.
  • Replace the oil once a year, thoroughly clean the tank, dredge the oil pipe, and replace the suction pipe filter. Oil should be changed once every 300 hours or once a month, and once a year thereafter.


6. Paper chain refueling device
Paper chain because of the high speed, heavy load in the state of work, so to have a periodic refueling device. Maintenance items are as follows:
  • Weekly check the oil level, timely replenishment;
  • Check the oil circuit every month, dredge the oil pipe;
  • Clean the oil pump thoroughly every six months.
